Shaojie Zhou is a Professor of School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua University (TUSPPM), the Deputy Dean of the Institute for Contemporary China Studies at Tsinghua University and the Director of the Center for Employment and Social Security of TUSPPM. He received his Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Tsinghua University in 1999, Master's degree in Management Science from Tsinghua University in 2002, and PhD in Economics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2007.
He has published more than 70 papers in Chinese and English, co-authored five books in Chinese and two book in English, and has undertaken many research projects including the National Social Science Major Project. His main research areas include development studies and policies, Chinese economy, and international development and governance.
Based on the analysis of China's basic national conditions and development trends, this book begins with a general introduction to the study of "modernization with Chinese characteristics," and then discusses the comprehensive construction of a prosperous society in all respects, unprecedented changes, the new national system, green modernization, and technological modernization.
